What is your board position and a brief description of what you do for CCAM?I’m 1st VP Membership. My duties are to reach out to new and perspective members and tell them about what we do here at CCAM. At meetings and events I’ll greet you and get you all checked in! I also report to the Aggie Moms Federation by sharing our membership numbers so our members get all the benefits of belonging to the Federation. There are several board chairs that work on the Membership committee to help CCAM with all things to support our Members: Aggie Angels, Name Badges, Ring of Honor and Goodie Bags are all part of the Membership team.
Where do you live?We live in McKinney but are building a home at our ranch in Leonard (In NE Collin County).
Where did you attend college?I went to the University of Alberta in Canada and graduated with a BSN in 1993. My husband, Chad is an Aggie, class of ’94.
Tell us about your kids: I have two boys, Sam (20) is attending Collin college and Michael (19) is my Aggie: class of 2025 majoring in GeoPhysics.
What are your hobbies?I like to quilt and craft- I’m part of the ornament team and help assemble the finished ornaments.
What is a good book you've read recently?I like dark and suspenseful novels, Verity by Colleen Hoover is a recent favorite.
What is your most favorite vacation you've ever taken or favorite place you've traveled to? My favorite place to visit is the Canadian Rockies especially Banff and Jasper.
What is something most people don't know about you? I just completed my RN refresher and I’m going to go back to work after 19 years away from nursing!
What is your favorite thing about Texas A&M? I love the traditions and loyalty that students and former students have to the school.
What is some advice you would give a new student at A&M?I would tell them to attend class, introduce themselves to their professor BEFORE they have an issue and to join a club or organization so they have people to do things with.
What is some advice you would give a MOM of a new student at A&M? To join their local Aggie Moms club of course! Some practical advice would be to choose what football game they want to go to as soon as the schedule is announced and buy their tickets and book a hotel as early as you can! The town is so crowded during a football weekend but it’s also so fun; pack your patience and have a great time!
