My daughter Allie is 19 and a sophomore accounting major in the PPA program at Texas A&M (Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2025) . She leads a Bible study, enjoys hanging out with her friends, and LOVES Aggie football! She is living her best life as an Aggie and loving it!
What are your hobbies? I enjoy quilting, crafting, playing games, and hanging out with my family.
What is a good book you've read recently? I enjoy Christian fiction books. I really enjoyed The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club by Wanda E. Brunstetter. I also like books by Melody Carlson a lot.
What is your most favorite vacation you've ever taken or favorite place you've traveled to? The summer after my daughter graduated high school, we stayed at a friend's lake house. It was an awesome week of relaxing, jet skiing, playing games, and hanging out together!
What is something most people don't know about you? I can remember my dreams often and I have had some doozies. One of my favorites is I was Reba McEntire and we had to rewrite the Itsy Bitsy Spider song for Scott Bakula, because it made him so sad.
What is your favorite thing about Texas A&M? I love the feeling of belonging, every time I meet an Aggie, I feel an instant connection and enjoy getting to know them.
What is some advice you would give a new student at A&M? Get involved and find your people. Church is a great place to start! The classes are important, but learning to adult and enjoy life are super important too.
What is some advice you would give a MOM of a new student at A&M? It's so hard to let them grow up and leave, but once you hear how much they are enjoying life, it's easier. Be there to listen, encourage, and sometimes offer advice, but remember they are adults now so they really need to learn to make their own decisions.
